Ellie Durant qualified as a midwife in 2010 and worked clinically in the UK and New Zealand from 2010 - 2015. She has spent the last four years supporting student, aspiring, and qualified midwives with online resources. She is the founder of the 18,000 member strong Secret Community For Midwives In The Making and is the author of the bestselling guide for getting into midwifery, Becoming a Student Midwife: The Survival Guide for Passionate ApplicantsShe writes for Midwife Diaries and The Practising Midwife and her latest book is, New Walk, is a life-affirming novel about studentmidwifehood, marijuana and abortion.

Ellie has presented at conferences alongside speakers such as Michel Odent, Sheena Byrom and Virginia Howes, and is proud and pleased to have presented at the Royal College of Midwives conference 2017. Ellie's blog Midwife Diaries is one of the most popular midwifery sites globally and her article Bullying In Midwifery: One Small But Mighty Technique has been read by nearly 60,000 people.
